Wemyss Malts Spice King 8 Year combines single malt Scotch whiskies in an expression focused on fruit, warm spice and gentle smoke. This is the older eight-year age-stated bottling, not the later no-age-statement Spice King or a twelve-year release. Bottling at 40% ABV keeps the palate approachable without losing its spicy character.
Tasting notes
Nectarine and tangerine meet toffee and vanilla on the nose. Sweet fruit introduces the palate before cinnamon, nutmeg and a smoky accent develop, with pepper and clove lingering on the finish.
