Shinobu Pure Malt blends malt whiskies sourced outside Japan and finishes the blend in Japanese Mizunara oak. Earlier sherry- and bourbon-cask maturation adds fruit and sweetness before the distinctive wood finish. It is a world-malt blend finished in Japan, rather than a claim that every component was distilled there.
Tasting notes
Vanilla, plum, mint and candied orange meet toffee and hazelnut-like notes. Fruity sweetness develops on the palate with herbal-tea and gentle smoke impressions, followed by wood spice and pepper.
