About this bottle

Teeling Blackpitts uses peat-smoked malted barley and triple distillation to create a distinctive smoky Irish single malt. Maturation in ex-bourbon and ex-Sauternes white-wine casks adds sweetness and fruit around the smoke. This is the standard 46% ABV expression, not the separately released double-distilled Cask Strength Blackpitts.

Tasting notes

Barbecue smoke and cloves meet butterscotch and orange-peel aromas. Applewood-smoke impressions develop alongside honey, allspice, stewed pear and grilled pineapple, with salted caramel and savory wood lingering through the finish.

Serving suggestions

Serve neat and add water a few drops at a time to explore the fruit beneath the smoke. A large cube offers slower dilution; grilled vegetables or lightly smoked cheese complement the savory character.
