About this bottle
Michter's US*1 Toasted Barrel Finish Sour Mash Whiskey begins with the house's sour mash whiskey, then receives additional maturation in a specially toasted barrel. The finishing barrel uses wood air-dried for eighteen months before toasting; that figure describes wood seasoning, not the whiskey's age. This is the Sour Mash release, distinct from Michter's toasted bourbon and rye bottlings.
Tasting notes
Toffee, buttery vanilla and honey-like notes lead into chocolate and orange peel. Cherry, gentle campfire impressions and warm spice extend the finish.

Serving suggestion
Start neat and allow the whiskey to open in the glass. A few drops of water can reveal the contrast between citrus, toffee and toasted wood without masking the finish.
