About this bottle

Don Amado Largo is a traditionally made mezcal from Santa Catarina Minas, Oaxaca, distilled from the tall, trunk-forming Largo agave in the Karwinskii family. The Arellanes family's minero-style methods include earthen-pit roasting, fermentation with agave fibers and distillation in clay-and-bamboo pots. This is Largo, not the producer's Espadín-based Rústico.

Tasting notes

Creamy cooked agave and mild smoke mingle with candied fruit and green herbs. Earthy root-vegetable accents, citrus and subtle spice lead to a bright mineral finish.
