About this bottle
Basil Hayden Dark Rye combines rye whiskey with a touch of Port, layering dark-fruit richness over the grain's spicy character. It is a distinct expression from the brand's standard bourbon and from a rye simply aged in a wine barrel: the Port contributes directly to the blend's flavor and color.
Tasting notes
Dark berries, molasses and oak introduce the spirit. Caramel and dried fruit round out the rye spice, with a soft texture and a lingering fruit-and-wood finish.

Enjoy over ice or in a Manhattan-style cocktail. Reduce the sweet vermouth or other sweeteners to taste, since the Port already supplies fruit and sweetness.
