About this bottle
Barrell Private Release A40i combines bourbons from Kentucky, Tennessee and Indiana in a recipe built from four age components. After blending, the whiskey marries in a bourbon cask before bottling at cask strength. A40i is a specific blend designation, not a single-distillery or single-original-barrel bourbon.
Tasting notes
The blending team's release notes emphasize a pronounced chocolate-like character and a chalky, mineral impression associated with the Indiana component. Mature oak, rounded bourbon sweetness and warming spice provide the broader setting for this concentrated release.

Serving suggestions
Start with a small neat pour and add water gradually to reveal the chocolate and grain. A large cube provides slower dilution. The oldest component's age does not describe the age of the entire blend.
