Part of the Old Charter Oak collection, Finest Oak matures in specially prepared barrels made by Canton Cooperage from carefully selected American white oak. The staves are hand-sorted and open-air seasoned in Kentucky before becoming barrels. This is the Finest Oak bottling—not the collection's French Oak, Chinkapin Oak or other oak experiments.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Caramel and berries combine for an inviting fruit-and-sweetness profile.

Palate: Vanilla and maple syrup lead, framed by the character of seasoned oak.

Finish: A long finish featuring oak, chocolate and a peppery accent.

Product Details

Brand: Old Charter Oak

Distillery: Buffalo Trace Distillery

Classification: Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Edition: Finest Oak

Barrel program: Canton Cooperage American white oak

Mash bill: Buffalo Trace Mash Bill #1

Proof: 92

Bottle size: 750ml

Why You'll Love It

The unique oak-selection and cooperage program make this release compelling to Buffalo Trace collectors and enthusiasts interested in the influence of wood on whiskey.
