After approximately eight years in American oak, selected bourbon barrels spend additional time in old rum casks associated with Gosling's Family Reserve. This finishing stage contributes deeper brown sugar and tropical complexity without turning the spirit into a rum-based liqueur.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Caramel, vanilla, dark sugar and hints of mature oak.

Palate: Bourbon toffee and baking spice join molasses, dried fruit and subtle tropical richness.

Finish: Warming and balanced, with a lingering rum-cask sweetness.

Product Details

Brand: Jefferson's Reserve

Type: Kentucky Bourbon with Rum Cask Finish

Primary maturation: Approximately 8 years, per supplier

Finishing: Ex-rum casks associated with Gosling's Family Reserve

Finish duration: Approximately 15 months, per supplier

Bottle size: 750ml

Exact proof: Confirm label

Why Choose This Bottle?

A memorable expression for fans of cask finishing, giving bourbon's oak and spice additional tropical depth from rum wood.

Serving Suggestions

Serve neat in a tasting glass to separate the whiskey and rum-cask layers, or over one large ice cube.

Find Jefferson's Reserve Old Rum Cask Finish Bourbon (750ml) online at Blackbook Spirits.
