Unlike the regular Fortaleza Reposado, this 2022 Winter Blend combines three separately matured tequila components influenced by American oak ex-bourbon barrels, Hungarian oak ex-Tokaji wine casks and French oak ex-Oloroso sherry casks. Released in 2022 at 87 proof, it is a vintage-specific bottling: other Winter Blend years use different cask programs.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Cooked agave with honey sweetness, herbs, warm spices and subtle wood influence.

Palate: Cooked peach, caramel, allspice, ginger, nutmeg and orange blossom complement the roasted agave flavor.

Finish: Fruit and spice trail into rich caramel and the underlying cooked-agave character without becoming cloying.

Product Details

Brand: Fortaleza

Release: Winter Blend 2022

Classification: Reposado Tequila

Agave: 100% blue Weber agave

Origin: Tequila Valley, Jalisco, Mexico

Distillery NOM: 1493

Cask influences: American ex-bourbon oak, Hungarian ex-Tokaji, French ex-Oloroso

Proof: 87

ABV: 43.5%

Bottle size: 750ml

Why You'll Love It

The appeal of this 2022 release lies in its three-cask complexity and vintage specificity.
