The whiskey is based on a high-rye mash with malted barley and matures for four years in new charred American oak barrels. Its combination of caramel-apple sweetness, honey and warming rye spice provides a pleasing contrast to Bull Run's sweeter corn-based American Whiskey and high-rye bourbon.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Caramel apple, honey and a gentle layer of warm toasted oak.

Palate: Distinct rye spice meets rounded orchard-fruit sweetness and an elegant oak backbone.

Finish: Silky, warming and pleasantly spicy.

Product Details

Producer: Bull Run Distillery

Style: Carlton Straight Rye Whiskey

Origin / bottler: Portland, Oregon

Grain: High-rye mash with malted barley; producer describes approximately 95% rye

Aging: Four years in new charred American oak

Reference proof: 90.44 proof / 45.22% ABV on producer site; may vary by batch

Bottle size: 750ml

Why Choose This Bottle?

Carlton is an inviting choice for whiskey drinkers who appreciate the grain-driven spice of classic rye without sacrificing sweet apple and honey notes.
